Soma is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the dynamic world of software and payments. His illustrious career has spanned the globe, leaving a trail of successful ventures and innovations in his wake.

In 2012, Soma founded iKaaz, a trailblazing mobile wallet company. iKaaz achieved remarkable success, culminating in its acquisition by Grab, Singapore, and a listing on Nasdaq. The platform made waves in the Southeast Asia market, processing billions of payment transactions annually.

Soma’s journey in the payments industry also includes a stint as part of the founding team at Obopay India, where he orchestrated the successful launch of mobile financial products in Asia and Africa. Later, his expertise led him to Nokia, where he facilitated global integration across the product portfolio in collaboration with banks, mobile network operators (MNOs), and other financial institutions under the banner of Nokia Money.

Prior to these achievements, Soma’s entrepreneurial spirit launched groundbreaking Linux-based products for both mobile and desktop platforms. His visionary leadership led to strategic partnerships with Fortune 50 companies. Soma played a pivotal role in the mobile industry, contributing to the launch of MySpace on mobile platforms and also spearheaded various initiatives in North America, including pioneering automated subscriber downloads.

Soma’s career started in the trenches, developing system software products like compilers and debuggers and collaborating closely with core operating system kernels. This solid foundation equipped him with a deep understanding of software technology.

Soma has completed the Executive Strategy from the Harvard Business School. He is also an alumnus of BITS Pilani, where he earned his Master’s degree in Software Systems. His educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University.
